Medical Disclaimer
China MRI Cost explains what MRI, CT and PET-CT scans cost in mainland China and how the process works for foreigners. It is a price and process guide. It is not medical advice.
What this site does not do
- It does not tell you whether you need a scan, which scan, which body area, or whether contrast is needed. Your doctor decides that.
- It does not read or interpret scans or reports.
- It does not recommend a hospital on medical grounds. Hospitals named on the site are named because they publish prices or services.
- It is not for urgent problems. If you have sudden or severe symptoms, go to an emergency department or call your local emergency number. Do not delay care to travel for a cheaper scan.
Who wrote the content
The pages are written and checked against official sources by the China MRI Cost team. They have not been reviewed by a doctor or radiologist. Where a page explains medical points such as scan safety or preparation, it links to the medical source it relies on, mainly RadiologyInfo.org, which is run by the American College of Radiology and the Radiological Society of North America.
Before you travel for a scan
- Ask your doctor at home whether they will accept a scan and report done in China, and in what format they need the images (usually DICOM files).
- Ask whether a follow-up consultation will be needed, and where.
- Check your travel and health insurance.
